I am trying to find the distance from San Francisco to Napa by WATER, i.e., across the Bay to the entry to the Napa River to Napa. From 1850-1855+ my great-grandfather often made that trip (he was on the first Vigilante Committee, but his parents were in Napa), and I'd like to know how far it is and about how long it would have taken. HELP!!! (He didn't have a car. Or a horse . . . . Yes, I'm talking about the 1800s.)
